Chronology of cameras Ihagee

The Ihagee Parvola Zweiformat (model C or 1550) appeared in the maker’s catalogues between 1933 and 1939. The camera is designed for plates (6 x 4.5 cm) and 127 film (3 x 4 or 4 x 6,5 cm frames). To account for the different distances from the lens to the sensitive media, it has a double distance scale (red for plates and white for film) on the lens barrel.

This particular camera has a back and internal frame for 4 x 6.5 cm (one red window) and a groundglass back and plate/cut-film holders. Advancement of film is made winding knob at the top, where are also located: an automatically folding Newton finder and a pair of strap lugs.

The shutter is a F. Deckel Compur C00 delivering speeds in the range 1 to 1/300 second plus B and T. It has a safety lock of the trigger. On the back of the shutter case there is the typical Parvola scimitar-shaped piece to hold the camera vertically.

The lens is a Ihagee Anastigmat with 7 cm of focal length and maximum aperture of 3.5.
